In 2012 Dum Dum Girls frontwoman Dee Dee Penny and husband Brandon Welchez of Crocodiles announced a collaborative project called Haunted Hearts. They released the single Something That Feels Bad Is Something That Feels Good last year through their own Zoo Music label and are set to release their full-length debut Initiation on the same label on May 27th.
The debut single from Initiation, "Johnny Jupiter" isn't a great departure from either of it's originators but it is a dreamy collaboration between husband and wife that further expands on that noise-pop feel that we've grown to love over the years. Fans of either Dum Dum Girls or Crocodiles should not be disappointed and fans of The Jesus and Mary Chain will discover a new freshness to that shoegaze sound.
