Zach Yudin is a Santa Monica, California native and
multi-instrumentalist that records under the name Cayucas. Taking a couple of
songs written previously under the moniker Oregon Bike Trails, Yudin refined
his sound, changed names to Cayucas, recruited a band, and added a
sugar-sweetened handful of pop gems that makes the debut album Bigfoot.
Bigfoot is filled
to the brim with the kinds of songs that I look for when putting together a
summer playlist. It bleeds that classic Beach Boys echoy sound with soothing
Africanesque rhythms that remind me of a more laid back Vampire Weekend. These
are the songs you want to have with you while bumming around the beach this
summer, staring at that evening blood-orange sky, beer in hand, life firmly in
check.
